Mommy's little helper

If you know I'm going to be folding clothes, you'll jump at the chance to help me. It's a newly acquired skill of yours and you are eager to practice it. You especially like folding your pants and jeans or my dish towels. Sometimes I am glad for the company and I'll let you know I'm about to go fold but other times, when I want it done quickly or I want a little peace while doing it, I'll attempt to sneak off quietly. Yet somehow, you always manage to catch me and I'll hear those little thumps up the stairs to join me. I should take advantage of this help while it lasts.

Warmest Day of the Year

You kids announced with absolute joy today that it was 'so hot' outside. You couldn't wait to get out and play so I held off school til later in the day because I'm such a nice mommy. It was likely 65ish degrees and it wasn't sunny but it wasn't snowing, raining or frigidly cold either. Plus it was the first time you were able to be outside with no jacket on! The warmth had melted some of the ice around our house which created delightfully messy mud for you boys to play in and you got right to work creating 'bodies of water' and streams with dams (we got to use those geographical terms we had learned in school the day before). Spring will be here soon and, although it's not consistently warm nor sunny, it will be nice to have a few more days like this mixed in.

Jammie time

I had recently cleaned out the spare room upstairs and with you looking all fresh from your bath, I thought it would be a great time for a pic. You willingly obliged, especially after I promised you a chocolate chip. 'Two?!' you negotiated. I agreed, though you ended up getting a small handful for being so deliciously adorable in your jammies.
